One night I was working on my budget out of obedience to God. He keeps showing me and revealing to me I have to be equipped and prepared for when He restores my husband to us as head of household (Watch this video for reference). He is training me. When I got to a point where I was crunching totals for the month of January, a surplus kept coming up. So I was like, okay God but it
hasn't felt that way and I heard Him say, "Ebone, Find the Money." I was like oh okay and what I took it as is I have a responsibility to pursue the wealth God wants to place in my hands in order to do my part in the building up of His Kingdom and before you place me in the "prosperity gospel" boxI want to assure you this not THAT lol. And it really doesn't matter if you think that because this is a word from the Lord, so moving on. So I was lead to get context to the word He was giving me, so let's start with wealth. Wealth in Hebrew means, "strength, might, efficiency, army, force." What an explanation to be clear that God equips us with weapon as a force against the enemy's tactics. The fact that army is a definition for wealth, like the wealth built by God alone, stands firm against evil in our lives. Whew. And then money in Hebrew means, "silver, money, as metal, as ornaments, shekels, talents. Money is the physical currency, the earthly evidence of wealth. So the pursuit of money is tied to your heart posture, so the question is, how will you pursue the money? How will I pursue the money?
If there is selfish ambition, desires to only benefit self and poor practices for gain, well, we reap what we sow. To pursue God with a desire to uplift, uphold His precepts and serve His Kingdom and His people is what leads us to wealth. I am wealthy already in my pursuit to seek first the Kingdom of God (Matthew 6:33) so the promise if I do the things given to me by God, all things will be added, so therefore I am already wealthy. I can assure you I do not have a whole lot of MONEY, but I am wealthy in my pursuit of the Kingdom. The truth is you have to leave everything in order to gain access to the wealth and abundance of God's kingdom. (Matthew 16: 24-27). The currency or the "money", or the substance is faith and obedience. Hebrews 11:1 says faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence or wealth of things unseen. The unseen is certainly a mystery, but it is often revealed through our faith and works on behalf of God's Kingdom.
